Opening Ride
Tue, Aug 14th, 2007
We started the year at out favorite bike park, Bootleg Canyon. The turn out was great. We had riders from the DO and PA programs and various years. It was good meet some new riders.

Jason was good enough to haul most of the bikes in his truck.

We made a few transfers in the parking lot.

Brad showed up with his awesome mini-van and we were able to squeeze everyone inside.

We started ride up top on Boy Scout. This is one of the more difficult and technical cross-country trails. The first part is a little steep and rocky.

After a few repairs (flat-tire and a chain problem) we were ready to hit the next leg. It was getting dark, so we decided to take Girl Scout back for a quick, smooth ride.

Girl Scout is a very well-groomed trail with hard-packed dirt and lots of dips and turns with high banks.

Some of us ran into one of the local residents. If you ride Girl Scout at dusk your likely to hear this rattlesnake.

We ended the evening with a little BBQ at the pavilion. Thanks to the spouses who had hot beef waiting for us, and thanks to everyone who came out and made this a great event!
